St. John’s, Antigua August 10, 2015 - Mount St. John’s Medical Centre (MSJMC), today, hosted members of the Antigua & Barbuda Progressive Society (ABPS) for a blood drive. The group is made up of citizens of Antigua & Barbuda living in New York.
Increasing the number of voluntary donors is our main focus, explains Salma Crump, Head of Marketing & Communications at MSJMC.
“The need for blood at our hospital remains constant, and donations are needed to offset blood shortages,” notes Crump. “There is no substitute – the only source is the volunteer donor. So we’re sincerely grateful to the members of the ABPS, especially Director Megan Mack, who worked with us to organize the event.”
A total of eight (8) pints of blood was collected by the hospital’s blood bank with most of the donors donating for the first time.
